ABOUT THE EVENT:
Becky Wasserman has long been one of the most influential people in the wine world, and specifically the region of Burgundy. We were grateful to have her attend the recent Zoom tasting with Frédéric and Chantal Lafarge, and following a few of her stories illustrating Burgundy in the 60's, we just had to ask her to host an event with us.
Her knowledge, passion and experience made for an enjoyable and educational hour. Add in four delicious wines and it was quite a Sunday.
The lineup of wines (below) intentionally covers a few different regions of France, as did our discussion; Burgundy, the Loire Valley, and Savoy.
Arnaud Lambert 2019 Saumur Blanc Clos du Midi, $24
Domaine Patrick Charlin, 2016 Altesse, $37
Prunier-Bonheur 2017 Auxey Duresses Rouge, $53
Lignier-Michelot 2018 Bourgogne Rouge, $42
About Becky Wasserman Co.
Becky Wasserman & Co. was founded in 1979 by Becky Wasserman-Hone, an American expatriate who has lived in Burgundy since 1968. Our company exports wines from small domaines and shippers in Burgundy and other regions who honor their terroirs. We do not endorse any single method of vinification or an “ideal” type of wine.
Our international team, based in Beaune, is comprised of thirteen people, including sales and administration (plus two office cats). We lunch together at the office each day. We are all enthusiastic eaters, and we taste wines that are old favorites alongside potential new members of the Becky Wasserman portfolio. We follow a simple rule: “If we won't drink it, we won't sell it.” © Becky Wasserman & Co.
