My childhood was a jumble of cultures – I was born in New York to an Argentine dad and a Wisconsinite mom, but we soon after moved to Sao Paolo and then to London, where we stayed for eleven years. These days, I live in Greenpoint, which I unequivocally believe to be the best neighborhood in New York, maybe in the world.
Growing up, I wanted to be a chef, but when looking for jobs after college, I balked at the late nights and weekend work, and instead landed at Murray’s Cheese, where I worked as an analyst and a buyer. I first got into wine while teaching cheese classes alongside talented and interesting sommeliers – I liked the idea that it was a field you could work in for three decades and still feel overwhelmed by how much you don’t know.
