I grew up skiing and hiking in Colorado, but fell in love with New York City on a school trip and knew this is where I had to be. By the time I was 21 I was living in Jersey City and bartending to pay for school. Thus my learning and love of food, wine and spirits began.
Like many young 20-somethings I had an appreciation for adult beverages. But it was while bartending at a small Italian wine bar in Hell’s Kitchen that I truly fell in love with wine and spirits. A glass of Montepulciano and learning the art of Negronis changed my understanding of it all. I realized that wine and spirits are about more than just who you’re with and where you are, they are about place, people and history. Before beginning my career with Convive, I tended bar for over a decade in some of New York’s finest drinking establishments such as The Library of Distilled Spirits, Cote, and Danny Meyer’s Porchlight.
I live in Manhattan with my husband and two cats, and there is almost nothing in the world that I love more than a glass of rosé on Rockaway Beach.
