I moved to the East Village back in 2003 and have been in New York now for 17 years. I am a Creative Director for a luxury shoe brand that is based in Palm Beach. We make velvet slippers with whimsical embroideries. Ironically, or perhaps apropos, many of our slippers feature Martinis, Negronis, or glasses of wine on them. I enjoy long walks to the wine store and tasting with the staff.
I make sure to never show up to a party without at least a half a case of wine in hand. And I never leave a drop of food on my plate at a dinner party. It never occurred to me that someone would order just one slice of pizza or a single glass of rosé– for me it’s the whole pie and an entire bottle or nothing at all!
